You'll never believe what just happened. Sister Rucker called and said, "We are officially extending the call to Sister Francis and Sister Hutchinson to be Social Media Leaders for our mission along with Sisters Bell and Weaver in Romania. The APs are wonderful but they have so much too worry about. We have been counciled by the Area Presidency to trust those assigned by you to really lead out with the online efforts in your mission."
I am shocked. They want us to join the mission leadership council meetings and train at zone conference.
She said that there are exciting times and turning points coming that we don't even know about. This is in an effort to define roles and responsibilities within the mission and to continue to organize and learn and grow. What a cool time!
I also wanted to share their weekly email to the mission this week. The conference with Elder De Feo was incredible.
The spirit is personally calling us all to action in this great work. Each of us has divinely tailored assignments to act. What has it been telling you? How will you and your companion support each other in what the spirit is teaching you to do individually?
What did we hear this week?
ONE. Obedience is not about the rules, it’s about GETTING THE POWER and the ONLY WAY TO GET THE POWER is to SANCTIFY YOURSELVES! Sanctify yourselves today and see wonders tomorrow (Joshua 3:5) Our ongoing personal conversion takes diligent efforts, reflection, repentance, compassion, support from others and love. There is no room for unnecessary guilt. Guilt is reserved for sin. We offer Him our broken hearts daily as a sacrifice. He loves to heal us. Our obedience to Him energizes and renews us with POWER.
TWO. FIND ANOTHER WAY - Alma returned and entered the city by another way. He went immediately. He worked with an inactive member who helped him fulfill his purpose of rescuing many souls from darkness to behold the marvelous light of God. If we have the power, the elect will find us. How we find the elect is transforming. Let us embrace these changes as they come, earnestly seeking for a witness from the Spirit. “Therefore fear not little flock; DO GOOD; let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail. ..look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.” (D&C 6:34.36)
THREE. DIVINE PATTERNS - principle based teaching and learning — common sense comes from applying good principles based on divine patterns. Shine our light on the doctrine of Christ not to blind others but to focus on His way. Seek divine principles and be careful not to loose ourselves in the letter of the law. It is possible for us to be acted upon by the rules. Disciples of Christ “should be anxiously engaged in a good cause and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness; for THE POWER IS IN THEM, wherein they are agents unto themselves.” (D&C 58 :27-28) If there is a rule or law you struggle with, this is the opportunity to receive revelation directly from Heaven. “For behold, it is not meet that I should command you in all things; for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward.” (D&C 58:26) We want you to have a direct line to Him! It requires FAITH and TRUST that He will sanctify you. THIS IS THE WAY to get the POWER!
We want you to have that power to 1) Feel His love for us and be energized to do His will 2) Be led to our “eternal, ancient, best friends” who are “only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it.” (D&C 123:12) The Spirit knows where they are! By the power of the Holy Ghost, you will “know the truth of all things” (Moroni 10:6), including where and how to find these friends.
We love you. We are taught daily by your goodness and your desire to do all you can to serve with your heart, might , mind and strength. Please continue to seek our your gifts and talent to offer up to the Lord. There may be hidden talents you will need to develop to find another way. Please do not be afraid. Please trust that He will guide you. Be wise and be discerning. Again, we love and trust you. Let’s sanctify ourselves and see His wonders together!
