Goodbye to Sister Van Wagoner ❤️

Goodbye calls to members ❤️

Special family history/temple lesson with Borika néni! (the néni who's second cousin referred her to us. It was the last thing I had to do before I could leave Kecskemét. Such a good lesson.)

The ukelele duó is brwking up :`) thank you Sister Van Wagoner for teaching me!

Hello!

Can you believe it's more than halfway through January 2021?? Van Wagoner nővér and I didn't step foot in the 2021 world until January 13 because we were both a little sick. We're all good now. It was such a good day running and biking to refill the food storage, visit a few friends to say goodbye, and teach our last lessons as a companionship to Borika néni and Enikő. It was actually a really special day and I can't believe how much I have experienced in Kecskemét. I've never felt this way before and as the train pulled away from the snowy Kecskemét platform, I had to cry a little bit. It has been such a good home for 6 months. I really will miss it.

Érd is also great! It's basically Budapest which is kind of exciting that I get to bookend my mission in the city. I will miss the quit country though. My new companion is Sister Parker from Alpine, Utah and she grew up in Texas. We have had a great first few days and met a few members already. Last night we went to the Németh-Tóthék's home to deliver muffins and say hi and we also has the Sacrament with them. It was a special experience--one of the best in my mission. Another story I'd love to share more about someday.

As we walked home big fluffy snowflakes started slowly falling and we caught them on our tongues on the old train platform. I can't believe I live in Hungary!? What?? I'm excited for the next/last 2 transfers. They are going to be so good. I think the real lesson of a mission is just knowing what the Lord would have you do in each moment. Another thing I remembered this week coming back to Budapest is realizing how much my perspective has changed in the past 16 months. I saw the gray coldness and had to learn to find the light and goodness amongst it. There is always light in Christ. There is such a literal difference you can see in people with the gospel. It's such a blessing there will come day be a temple here. God is so good to these people.

Until next week!

Love,
