May 2021 - Emma's Homecoming in Kaysville
Early Sunday morning I left with Emma and we drove to Sister Brenda Flamm’s house. She graciously let us set up tables and chairs and food to commemorate Emma’s homecoming from her mission. Then we went to the Taylor Monument Ward chapel! It was so lovely to be there again! We saw so many friends and family that we knew. When the meeting started, they even invited Sariah to the front to share the news that she had been called to the West Virginia Charleston Mission! Wow! It felt just like the olden days. Emma spoke for about 20 minutes about her mission. She is so gracious and kind and spiritual as she speaks. She really did a nice job and talked about how missionary work has changed. I loved her message. The Spirit was so strong. She talked about how after a few months of social media missionary work, they only had a handful of referrals. However, after the pandemic started and they had been trying out things for 9 months, then they had over 150 referrals. She talked about the stone rolling forth and it won’t stop. It was also amazing to hear her love for the Hungarian people. When she finished speaking, we went outside and there were so many people out there wanting to talk to Emma. It was wonderful to see old friends and family members. We went to the Flamms and spent some time in their back yard talking and eating. My mission trainer, Mindy Sontag Toller also came with her daughter, Bonnie, who finished her mission in both Japan and Washington State. The air was cool and the day was gorgeous! After the homecoming we went to the Barnes Park in Kaysville and celebrated Mother's Day. It was so wonderful to be there with my five oldest children and Dani and Emily. We talked and laughed and shared gifts. I'm so grateful that we could all be there to celebrate Emma and Sariah, as Emma returns and Sariah leaves on her mission.
