Wow, where to begin.
FIRST. Antal partook of the Sacrament yesterday. He came to church! He arrived on his bike just after 10 am and the branch president waited to start the meeting as we pulled in a few extra chairs because the meeting was packed. 47 people were there! Right as the meeting ended, Pál, Imre, and Andrea came right over to him to introduce themselves in person. Everyone was very welcoming and Antal said he felt "comfort and peace". The spiritual thought was about Moroni 10:3-5 and Mari elnök talked about how developing a testimony comes line upon line. I'm so grateful he was able to come.
I received the best text message of my life this week. Remember from last week the message from the person I met on the street in Budapest? This is what he sent this Thursday, "Szia!
Úgy hiszem, nem volt véletlen az amikor találkoztál velem és a családommal.Köszönöm hogy irányították Mckinstry és Cowen nővérekhez." All those months ago on that cold street corner. Does God have a plan? Yep.
We went to Zone Conference and met the Ruckers in Budapest! President Rucker shared a powerful message about how God is a God of miracles. He was one of the first missionaries in Hungary in 1993 and shared some of the stories that have come full circle since then. Many of the people he found and taught are now the core members here in Hungary. This is such a special little country to me and it was special to hear about some of the members I now know and love. We saw elders and sisters from other cities, many of which were in my MTC family. Oh I love them so much! It's crazy that we now speak Hungarian. It was such a good good day.
There's just no way to express how grateful I am that Antal was at church, that we were able to have an in-person Zone Conference, that I saw Allen nővér and my elders, that Szabolcs texted, or the rest of the special moments this week. I feel so humbled and grateful to be here. The world may be in commotion, but somehow God placed me in this quiet little Hungarian corner of the world. Hálásan köszönöm.
