Antal! We have now been meeting with him for about two months and Antal already has strong faith because he is so willing to learn and accepts everything with willingness. After we reviewed the Restoration (focusing on the apostasy and Joseph Smith), he asked about the Word of Wisdom. So we talked about how we don't drink alcohol or coffee, smoke, or do drugs. He actually loved it and I'll never forget his answer to us when we asked him if he was willing to follow this commandment. He said, "Szerintem egyszerű lesz nekem." De jó Antal :) I think his spirit is eager to accept truth. He works in the police department and always talks about how he knows there is good in every person.
The sweetest old couple came to the church for an English lesson on Thursday evening. We talked with them in a mix of Hungarian and English to help them practice and invited them to church. They had come to the big Christmas meeting and had loved it. It seems like there are not many elderly couples (but a lot of widows) in Hungary because of World War 2, so it was special to meet them. I hope we can keep teaching them.
Business Ads Manager... Our account has been blocked and unblocked before and the other day it was blocked again. We kneeled down by the computers to pray because we keep jumping hurdles but can't quite get everything to work as we thought it should (key word:), BUT a few hours later Facebook emailed and the account was unblocked again! Miracle! We immediately knelt down again this time in the kitchen. Brought to our knees twice in one day--once in desperation and once in such gratitude.
Someone texted me that I met in February on a street corner in Budapest and he's now interested in meeting with the missionaries there. Kind of cool!
Last year this week I was reading in the same place in the Book of Mormon as I am this year--Alma 26. Last year I read it in my tent one night before bed at Philmont Scout Ranch and verse 37 made me feel so hopeful and grateful for my mission call. Now this year I read it again having served these people for nine months. The Lord really does love every person, even the Hungarians. And He loves you, too.
Happy 4th of July!
Love,
Emma Rae
