Nyár jöt!

In a lesson with Antal this week, we invited two other church members to join over FB messenger video, Éva and Zoli. We talked about who God is as our Heavenly Father, and the tools He's given us to prepare to return to live with Him, namely prophets. Antal is always eager and willing to learn more, and usually even goes above and beyond.

Like on Sunday we forgot to send him the Zoom church link, but when we joined the meeting he had already joined anyways. And then after church, he and a few members in our group chat with him shared their thoughts from the Come Follow Me lesson. Antal even looks different than when we first started meeting with him. Éva shared that observation that now he smiles so much more and I think he has a brighter countenance. On Wednesday, he stopped by the branch house and we gave him a paper copy of A Mormon Könyve! (The Book of Mormon) We are really hoping that his work schedule will change so he can come to Sacrament Meeting on Sunday mornings.

Sister Hettinger oversaw a big video project that was just finished of Hungarians reciting the new Restoration Proclamation in Hungarian. I just shared it on my page because it's so beautiful and shows videos of these families who participated.

Many are people I've served with in Szeged, Kispest, and Pest and I just can't believe how much my love has grown for Hungarian, Hungarians, and Hungary. Unless you speak Hungarian (which I'm pretty sure is just one or two people on this email list) the video will be hard to understand, but there are English subtitles.  😉

My mission president and his wife, the Hettingers, finish their mission this week so last night's Facebook live was really memorable. They talked about the Sons of Mosiah who served for a time but were missionaries their whole lives, and how they were able to reunite once again as brothers in Christ. As a mission we all sent in clips of us singing pieces of "God Be with you 'till we meet again" to the group chat. I love the Hettingers and I'm so grateful for their leadership, examples, and testimonies. The AP' s and secretaries did a fun rendition of "I hope they call me on a mission".
Hurrah for Israel!

When Ammon teaches King Lamoni, he records, "...The dark veil of unbelief was being cast away from his mind, and the light which did light up his mind, which was the light of the glory of God, which was a marvelous light of his goodness—yea, this light had infused such joy into his soul, the cloud of darkness having been dispelled, and that the light of everlasting life was lit up in his soul..."

Truth is light, spiritually and literally. Christ is light. Krisztus a világ villágossága.
There's so many little experiences that I never want to forget. Like running into our friend Ibolya for the first time as we were exercising. Or having to watch where you walk on the sidewalk to avoid the dripping AC's up above, or last night when Tyler nővér cut into what we thought was a dinner roll but it was actually filled with jam! Or waving to two little girls way up high on a flowery balcony as we walked home yesterday evening, or Éva's voice saying, "pihenjetek lányok" (rest girls) over the phone. Tyler nővér and I smiled and each other and said, "Hmm, when will that happen?" What a great week. I think one of the best so far :)

Love,
