Merry missionary Christmas!
I hope you have all had a special Christmas season and end of 2020. I have been a missionary for every single day of 2020! Best year ever!!
Cookie day: We made white and red sugar cookie dough and made candy cane cookies with Enikő and the Kövessy family at the church. Then we caroled to a bunch of ward members with them. The biggest miracle was that it really helped Enikő and her family. Our goal is to help her learn how to teach her family about the Restoration. What a great way to strengthen her own testimony ;)
A few evenings before Christmas we sang Christmas carols out on our porch and our neighbor below us came out to listen. It was so fun and a great way to connect with him.
I was literally just the best two weeks ever. I am so grateful Heavenly Father gave me a second missionary Christmas! We still don't street contact but handed out little chocolates with #LightTheWorld cards all week.
We also served at the soup kitchen and gave them all copies of The Book of Mormon. We also caroled with Enikő to Borika néni and her daughter and Enikő was amazed. I hope she serves a mission. Whatever she does though, she will be incredible. There is a new light in her ever since being baptized! It is visible.
I'm learning the ukelele from Van Wagoner nővér and the other day as we walked through the town square a lady motioned for us to come over to her. She was classy and had a guitar and speaker set up. She said, "I've been praying God would send someone to tune my guitar, I'm really beginner level but I just want to play for Christ today. Can one of you?" Van Wagoner nővér pointed to me and said, "she can!" Whelp, I never have in my life, but I did and then we played Silent Night and sang with her! Such a cool Christmas day memory. Right time, right place!
It snowed for a few minutes yesterday! And we are still trying to bake without our food turning black... The dials on the oven are worn off... That being said, we made and delivered about 200 this week!
We also had dinner with so many ward families this week, and even our neighbor! Orsi (who's 23 and her parents both just passed away) has her 2 younger sisters over for the weekend and we made American egg buritos with them. Haha not really American... more like missionary food. They loved it!
Merry Christmas from Hungary! and happy 2021 soon!
Love,
Francis nővér
