Szeged in wind and rain :)
Sometimes the Lord literally performs miracles. And when they happen, they seem too good to be true!

Two people that Tyler nővér taught in past cities were baptized this weekend. One was held over Zoom, so we joined the call to watch the opening hymn, prayer, talk, and ordinance. We could just join for a few minutes, then moved to the other side of the room to call our friend for his lesson. A few minutes into the lesson, he suddenly urgently said that he had to go. He hung up and we just sat in shock for a second. Then we walked back to the computers where the baptism was playing RIGHT as Ruben sat down to receive the Holy Ghost! It was such perfect timing I could hardly believe it. It was a tender mercy for Tyler nővér that we could watch the rest of his baptismal service.

We also had a 'chicken soup miracle' yesterday. After my mission, I'd love to explain it in person because it was so special. I just know that God is aware of our circumstances, especially as we give everything we can to His work and His children. God really is our loving Heavenly Father.

Another miracle! Our new friend Dezső who we've just met with once joined the church Zoom call yesterday. We were really happy he wanted to come. Then during the lesson, he asked a bunch of questions to the teacher and made lots of comments. It was a little mortifying as the missionaries, especially since we've hardly been able to teach him anything. However, the branch members are SO kind and answered his questions really patiently. The whole lesson was about repentance and how Christ welcomes everyone with open arms. I think Dezső enjoyed the lesson. And Sister Tyler and I could not be more grateful for these Hungarian members being so kind.

We had a young adults activity! Gábor and Rebeka organized it and it was so so fun. They got clearance from the branch, mission, and area president to hold it outside on the Tisza river bank. My social skills are a little rusty from quarantine and I think everyone really enjoyed being able to be in person again. It's a really close-knit group and it was exciting to finally meet them in person!

Last night on an mission-wide call, President Hettinger announced that Hungary is the second highest baptizing mission in Europe right now! Second to the England Leeds mission. Wow! And during a pandemic??

In Sunday School, Sister Knowlton asked us each what our personal 'Waters of Mormon' are--a place where we've come to the knowledge of our Redeemer. I reflected on a few places that have been places of growth for me. One was my bedroom in Kaysville--the 'rose room', another was a certain hill at Philmont where I'd watch the stars last summer, and another was the beginning of my mission in Budapest. I invite you to read Mosiah 18 and ponder about where your 'Waters of Mormon' are.

Have a great week! Summer is on it's way in Seged!

Love,
Emma Rae
