Boldog születésnapot Magyarország - August 17, 2020

Yep, missions go so fast. It's true. I'm in my 4th city, with my 6th companion! Hutchinson nővér and I have already been in Kecskemét together for three weeks! Everyday is so unique and I love serving with her. We have the best deep gospel conversations and also find lots of reasons to laugh and enjoy each day. Who couldn't in such a place as Kecskemét??

Great moments from this week:
On Saturday we met in a FB online room with the media missionaries from almost every European mission. We discussed best practices with online missionary work and what we're each learning. It was so cool to hear how things are going in Norway, Germany, England, Kosovo, Italy, Spain, Albania, Romania, and a few others along with hear all the accents of international missionaries. Technology was created for missionary work! The elders in Germany with whom we planned the meeting started it by sharing D&C 123 11-12. It was a powerful reminder of our calls to serve--not just the mission calls we received but also the blessing of being born in the last days with the fullness of the restored gospel. I honestly don't know where all the online missionary work will end up but I'm often reminded of what Sister Bonnie Cordon taught in General Conference, "The Lord’s invitation to let our light so shine is not just about randomly waving a beam of light and making the world generally brighter. It is about focusing our light so others may see the way to Christ. It is gathering Israel on this side of the veil—helping others see the next step forward in making and keeping sacred covenants with God." We don't just want to share good vibes, but focus the light to bring people to Christ. Change in missionary work is literally happening so fast. It's now been 5 months exactly since starting quarantine on March 18th. So much has changed and will continue to. My motto right now is "Flexible people never get bent out of shape" :)

A nice bácsi Ferenc brings produce and food to the church all the time and this week he brought lots of fresh produce. Ahh you just have to see how cute it is when he pulls up in his little car that looks like the Weasley's car and gives us a box of apples or a squash. I love Hungarians.

Allen nővér left Kecskemét this week to train in Eger! Sister Bell got her new trainee Sister Thompson who was reassigned to Las Vegas for the past few months and was finally able to come to Hungary! We're so excited she's here!

This week is really special! My parents' anniversary, my sister Sarah's birthday, Hungary's independence day, and 11 months as a missionary! Boldog születésnap Sariah és Magyarország!

Love,
