Megbízható - August 10, 2020

My favorite things are megbízható: Az Úr, az apukám, és A Mormon könyve. I learned this word this week:)

Our friend Ferenc randomly brings us all sorts of food and today he brought fresh peppers, tomatoes, and apples.

Huge miracle on Saturday at the mall.  We had companionship study at a bookstore and then ate at the food court. We ran into a member from Budapest who introduced us to his mother who is a nonmember in Kecskemét. We sent her the church information and she joined the Relief Society Zoom call the next day! I felt especially grateful that we are still experiencing these missionary miracles amidst our Facebook work. Another cool moment was that the dad served a mission in Hungary in 1998 in Kispest. It was neat to realize that he had streeted the same streets all those years ago. And yet there are always more people to talk to and teach! Hungary has come so far. These members are pioneers!

We found this dirt track around a field for morning runs!

Another miracle was with missionary vlogs. We had a mission-wide training over Zoom and it went so well. I get so nervous to teach and train but the Spirit was there as we talked and shared with the mission our vision. We have been asked to coordinate all the media work in Hungary and run the two country church pages. I am learning that revelation is real and there is power in immediately following promptings. Hutchinson nővér is so proactive and a hard worker. We are learning so much about things I never dreamed would be a part of my mission. We end each day exhausted, which as I've said before is the best feeling.

Allen nővér leaves Kecskemét this week so we ate fagyi (gelato) with the other sisters one evening as a last hurrah. It was so warm and the moon was bright and the fagyi was so delicious. I love these sisters! I'm so grateful Allen nővér and I can serve together in Hungary if just for these two weeks between transfers.

The sisters ran up the street by our apartment to surprise us on Wednesday evening right before we went inside. It was so funny!

This week I studied 1 Nefi 8 in Hungarian because I want to learn the vocabulary for Lehi's vision of the Tree of Life. It's so cool to learn about the gospel in another language and learn new insights. For example, the words 'to eat' and 'to partake' of the fruit of the tree of life have different direct object endings that emphasize what it means to really 'partake' of the fruit. Hutchinson nővér and I had a long discussion about it and about how we can each 'partake' of the fruit in our scripture studies. I encourage you to spend more time each day in The Book of Mormon so that you can 'partake' and not just 'eat'. It's my goal this week, too!
